Fluoroscopic swallowing study
A dynamic swallowing study via fluoroscopy may be essential in diagnosing a sliding hiatal hernia, gastroesophageal reflux, esophageal dysmotility, crycopharyngeal achalasia or assynchrony, among others.
We typically associate gastroesophageal reflux in patients with a history of regurgitation. However, there are many patients with gastroesophageal reflux that present with a variety of clinical signs including chronic coughing, reverse sneezing, among others.
